I've decided to write down every preach from Sunday service in my blog because of couple reasons:
- to refresh my mind and to devote more on the Word of God
- To share His words to everybody who is interested
Today, Sunday Sept 7th...
Topic of today's preach: Staying Focus on the Lord's Banner
What is our church focus? it is to win hearts for the Lord (i really think this maybe be the reason why sometimes people misunderstood Christian as a fanatic)
Ko Franky reminded that we as a Christian races against other or circumstances.
this is so true..sometimes, we wait until circumstances make us to do something. He also mentioned that if we race against others we will become weary and dry.
Mark 16: 15
And He said to them," Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons;they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
The promises from God is really powerful! I was really surprise because this is the first time I read the phrase.
Banner is: used to make people stay focus; a guidance or direction
"Staying Focus is about Doing it"
Walking with God and staying focus is:
- Is NOT about FEELING
- it is about doing it
- sometimes we do rely or I must say lose to our own flesh and heart or mood. I admitted that this is one thing that hit me the most. Most of the time, I come or decided not to come based on my feeling. Sometimes I serve God based on my feeling. Ko Franky reminded me again about OBEYING. We might not feel coming to God, but we obey. Just like the illustration about Peter who is still a fisherman. Peter was tired from trying to catch fish and suddenly God ask him to catch the fish on other direction. Peter might feel tired or feel not wanting do obey God, but he did obey although his feeling saying the other way and in the end he did catch plenty fishes more than what he ever imagine. This really open my heart that I should obey God no matter what. I should come to Prayer meeting no matter how tired I am. I must come and serve as a caregroup leader although my heart is refusing. I must come to music practice although I'm sleepy. I must come to church and praise Him although I might not in the mood to do so. Learn To Obey!
- it is about letting go the old and putting the new garment
- this is also one of the hard things to do. Letting go old habits. Letting go bondages.(ikatan2an). even it seems hard to let go old habits, but as long as we are willing and have the heart to do so, we can do it. We will have to do our best and pray. Without pray and hard work, there will be no outcomes. We won't be able to let go old garment and receive new garment from God.
- it is about loving your enemy
- this one is really at the right time for me. I need to love my enemy. I need to not only forgive but love my enemy. I don't know how yet, but I will obey. I must obey and with my willingness and prayers, I believe I can do it. I know that if I can do this, I can be a happier person. I don't need to hide, I don't need to feel ashame, I don't need to feel angry. I need to be free by loving my enemy, not only forgiving!
- Is NOT about GETTING
- is about Giving with Joy and the best
- giving is not our mentality. with our flesh, we demand more getting than giving. But I've learned from God Jesus about giving. He is a big giver and never getter! He gives everything even His own life for somebody that He might now know yet. He didn't owe anybody anything. It is not like Romeo who die for Juliet. Even Romeo is a getter, he gets Julie's heart, therefore he is willing to die for her. But Jesus is not getting the love from anybody, He even betrayed, He even has to sacrifice for His enemies. Also Ko Heru and Marisa, they are also a big giver. They give their heart, time, money through their attitude, passion, prayers to others.
- Is NOT about KNOWING
- is about Understanding (Job 28:28)
- understanding God is wisdom like what is written in Job28:28. Wisdom is the fear of God. Fearing the Lord is being transparent. Ko Franky said that we might know that God has good intention for letting obstacles happen in our life. But we seldom understand the reason why. This is very true because sometimes we just cry to God every time problems happen in our life, but we never try to understand what God's want. Ko Franky also mention that learning to understand is not easy. It needs lots of homework and hardworks to be done. I need to do my homework and hardwork by reading His words, more devotion and opening my heart even more.
4. Is NOT about LOOKING
- it is about Seeing (Isaiah 45)
- Ko Franky mention that if we come to church just to look for who is playing the music or who preaching, we won't get anything from it. It won't grow fruit. Because what we need is to seek for God.
I know that it is about time for me to stop running and hiding.
I've been skipping PM, CG just to avoid everybody and off course to avoid him. But what I have come to advantage is nothing. I lose my friends, I lose my self and I even lose my spirit.
How stupid I am if I think about it now. I said that I need time but actually what I need is God. What I need is to depend on God and understanding His purpose in my life. I tried to heal my wound by seeking from worldly medicine, but all I need is actually just to pray and God will heal it permanently.
Tomorrow, I will take a day off. I'm not feeling good but the real reason is that I just feeling lazy. I just want to clean up my room so that I can clean up my heart. It is my new beginning. I hope that I'm doing the right thing. I hope that I can clean up my mess ASAP.
I want to run back to God..I miss Him...I miss His Love..His friendship...His companion...
Now, with a new communion that I partake today, I has become a new person!
